| Nice Campground by Small River | This is a nice wooded campground. We had a site next to the river with a nice view. Sites are fairly close together and reasonably flat. Showers and restrooms were clean. Quite expensive to stay here, $50 for a site.

What we liked most about this RV park is its location. It's less than a mile away from downtown Fredericksburg and there are a lot of stores and restaurants just outside. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Just let them know what you need and they'll take care of it. Other plus points include clean restrooms and laundry (although the laundry could use an AC unit), well-lit roads at night, and free ice from an ice machine. There are sites with full hookups, and both the cable and the internet work well. There's no hot tub or pool, though, but it's a good place for a base when visiting Fredericksburg.
Make sure you visit the National Museum of the Pacific War - fantastic!

We stayed here last September. Great place to stop if you're traveling the Natchez Trace Parkway. Sites are flat and set out around a lake in a woody setting. We had one with Electric and Water, but they also have primitive ones for tent camping. The restroom and showers were clean. We had a nice campfire.
We did a canoe trip down Bear Creek which was a beautiful way to spend a morning. Also hiked to Jean's overhang and rode our bikes around.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

| Beautiful Quiet Campground | We stayed here late November for one night as we were on our way to Sedona. It is a very quiet, pretty and small campground. The sites are all primitive grass / dirt and vary in size from small to medium, all flat with picnic tables, fire rings and grills. Most were also shaded. There was also a large group site with a pavilion and tables. Firewood was available, there was also a vault toilet, but no showers.
Only slight was gravel road to get to the campground was uneven and bumpy.
Definitely recommend this campground if you want to stay in a quiet and fairly remote location. Great hiking in the area and a nearby creek.

| Beautiful little campground amongst cottonwoods and sycamore | This is a beautiful little campground set amongst beautiful cottonwoods and sycamore trees. Each primitive site is flat and has a picnic table and fire ring with a grill on top. It is perfect for small RVs and tent camping. There are vault toilets and a water spigot. It is a very quiet campground close to beaver creek. All you can hear is water running along the creek where you can fish, just perfect. Also near to V-Bar-V petroglyph site, a must visit - join a ranger talk - simply fascinating.

| Great campground in the heart of Joshua Tree NP | One of the larger campgrounds in Joshua Tree National Park it is located near to Keys Ranch Tour and Barker Dam. Nice back in sites, flat with picnic table, grill and fire ring. No hookups (all the campgrounds inside the main part of the park are primitive). There is no running water, but there are vault toilets. Campground is surrounded by boulders that are popular with climbers. Little shade during the day but beautiful sunsets.

| Nice small campground but no shade | White Tank is a nice small primitive campground (all campgrounds inside the main part of the park are primitive). Sites are well spaced and separated by boulders offering enough privacy. Each one has a picnic table, fire ring and grill. However, during the day there is little to no shade. The half mile Arch Rock Nature trail starts in the campground and the trail goes along the edge of one site. This means you can get a few hikers passing through the campground and even your site during the day. Nice sunsets. Big enough for small to mid size RVs. No running water only several vault toilets.

Mount Desert CG has a very nice location, ideal for sightseeing in this part of Maine. It's close to Somesville, Somes Sound and other local attractions, making it a great home base. It's also a pleasure to relax in the CG too. It's very quiet out here, with most sites tucked into the forest and some with by the waterfront. You can spend a day fishing or canoeing here. The bathrooms and other facilities are clean. As this is mostly a tent/small RV campground, the sites are small and only electric and water hookups are available. It's really a nice place and we'll come back when we return to Maine.

| Nice campground near Crater Lake | We enjoyed staying 2 nights here. Arrived early to get one of the first come first served sites. Nice sized site with trees all around providing a good amount of privacy.
Bathrooms were fine with good hot showers. Very convenient base for Crater Lake NP.

Candlestick RV Park is basically a giant parking lot with no shade. It is located near an unsavory neighborhood but the place has security and is well-lit at night. It looks like it's efficiently run by friendly and hardworking people who keep the place neat and clean. The free fruit and coffee at the front desk is certainly a nice touch. While the location isn't so great, it's not close to downtown San Francisco, they do run a shuttle into town that will bring you home too at a set time. It has a nice laundry room and store and the restrooms and showers are modern and clean. The sites may be too close together, but full hookups and wi-fi are available. I enjoyed staying here with my wife and would consider returning whenever we're in the area again.

Planning a RVing trip with my kids in the summer this year, 6 and 8 yrs old. Any advice on whether KOA or Yogi campgrounds are better for keeping them entertained. We're going for a week.

| Re: Camping Illegal in City Parks? | Since when is it the police's job to help homeless people? Aren't there shelters, churches or charities that support them?
