| The new managers have done wonders with Walnut RV Park. | |
The new managers have done wonders with the park. The shower house has all been redone. Everything is so clean. The electric site with water and sewer works great. Laundry house is so clean to our biggest surprise. We were here for Thanksgiving. We were traveling and we woke up on a Thanksgiving morning. I didn’t know where we were going to eat and the new managers was hosting a Thanksgiving brunch for everyone. The food was wonderful. We will soon come back to this park. We have photos, but can’t figure out how to upload them. This place is a diamond, well worth the money.
We stayed here in a 5th Wheel. | | Comments (0) |

| Located in the middle of small town, run down bathhouse | |
This was okay, but we didn't care for camping off an alley of a neighborhood right in town. We didn't feel very safe. Owner was very friendly. Needed code for bathhouse, which had 2 sinks, both of which barely dribbled water. Showers at least worked fine. Wouldn't deliberately camp here again.
We stayed here in a Tent. | | Comments (0) |

| Deferred maintenance but convenient | |
Walnut RV Park was very convenient for us as we traveled west on I-40, pulling our Aliner in May of 2015. The owners were pleasant and the laundromat was a blessing.
Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was not so good. The park was quite run-down, and it appeared that many campsites had problems with inoperative utilities. The bathrooms would have been acceptable - although in need of paint and updating - if there had been hot water. Our showers weren't even tepid, they were cold.
The town of Vega rolls up the boardwalk at about 3:00pm on Sunday. Don't expect an open restaurant Sunday evening.
So, Walnut RV Park will do in a pinch, but better planning would have made me know to stay close to Amarillo or go 40 miles beyond Vega. | | Comments (0) |
