| Neat, clean, quiet and beautiful. | |
Mainly for tent camping with nice wooden platforms. Secluded sites, some on the water. A few sites for small RVs. Acadia is ten minutes away on a free bus! The staff was courteous and helpful.

It's the best campground in Bar Harbor. It's very close to Acadia National Park and even better campground than the ones located on the park territory. Closer doesn't mean better.
Highly recommended.

| Best location, location, location. | |
This campground is the perfect base camp because it's just so close to all the attractions.
It's also on the water, actually on the water.
Very well kept, sites are flat and level, bathrooms were clean, sites spaced nicely and I will return.

Mount Desert CG has a very nice location, ideal for sightseeing in this part of Maine. It's close to Somesville, Somes Sound and other local attractions, making it a great home base. It's also a pleasure to relax in the CG too. It's very quiet out here, with most sites tucked into the forest and some with by the waterfront. You can spend a day fishing or canoeing here. The bathrooms and other facilities are clean. As this is mostly a tent/small RV campground, the sites are small and only electric and water hookups are available. It's really a nice place and we'll come back when we return to Maine.
