Great Location

The location is everything for this park. Getting in and out is a little tricky between other RVs and large pine trees. The owner came out and helped me to back in. Couldn't have done it without him. Once set up it's a great place. Sits directly on the Intercoastal waterway with the bridge just overhead. You can see Acme Oyster House from the deck. Fishing is good right off the deck. Very nice full timers in the park. 3 people introduced themselves to me within 10 minutes of arriving. Lots of shade. The whole park have trees. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing park I've stayed in, but the folks are very nice and the location is fantastic.

We stayed here in a 5th Wheel.

Mostly permanents

We stayed here many many years ago. We drove over this morning from Gulf State Park to take a look and refresh our memory. When we stayed here it was a campground, not a permanent site. Now there are just too many RVs that don't look like they have moved in years. If you just wanted to commute to the beach and the beach night life then perhaps this would be OK. Maybe the owners just need to put some money into refurbishing. The activities today board was empty so I assume they do not do any thing but collect fees. Being under the bridge over the inter coastal water way is neat. Lulu's Restaurant is within walking distance .

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.

Quiet yet close to everything

Easy off highway, right on the Intercoastal Waterway. It was neat watching the barges go up and down the canal. Lulu's (Jimmy Buffet's sister) Restaurant/Marina on other side of overhead bridge. Wal-mart 1/2 mile; Gulf of Mexico about 1 1/2 miles. Close to great restaurants, shopping, waterpark, Gulf. 9 miles to hospital. 3/4 mile to Urgent Care Center. Yes, the Route 59 bridge goes right over the edge of the campground but eventually you don't even notice it and when you're in your camper, you don't hear it at all. Unfortunately, the tent sites are right next to it but they are under the trees so I don't know how loud the traffic is there. Nothing special about this campground (no pool, no playground) except for proximity to dining, restaurants, and the town of Gulf Shores while still seeming to be "in the country". Restrooms dated but clean. Laundry good. Mostly seasonals but everyone friendly. We will stay here next year when we come

We stayed here in a Travel Trailer 5th Wheel.
