We really enjoyed our stay at this park. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly. Driveways and parking pads are spacious and level. Utilities are within easy reach. Grounds are kept very clean. One of the hosts even scrubbed all parts of the concrete tables after each campsite is vacated! Restrooms, showers, and laundromat were all in good shape. The nature center has a small gift shop and nature displays. If you want them, wifi and cell coverage are both good. The only down side is the $5 per person per day fee that they add to the campsite fees.
There are no shade trees, but the sea breeze keeps things comfortable. No campfires allowed but you can use your charcoal or propane grill. Our site was just a few steps from the Colorado River and its 2 fishing piers. The gulf is also within walking distance and has a very long and large pier. The beach was in pristine condition when we were there! Great sand, clean water, no trash, no seaweed, no jellyfish, and very few people!
At night the campground was very quiet and despite a few street lights, the sky was very dark, providing for excellent star-gazing. Lots of sea gulls and pelicans here.
We stayed here in a Travel Trailer. | | Comments (1) |

If you want to be in a quiet out of the way park near the Gulf of Mexico, this is the park. The concrete sites are nice and level. The park is clean and the restrooms are kept spotless. The Colorado River runs beside the park so there are about 12-15 water front sites. The Gulf is a short walk away with a nice long fishing pier. The LCRA has managed it for 1 year (prior was a concessionaire). The park has two lighted fishing piers and a cleaning station. It is away from town and have been told the GPS was not accurate. We had to buy drinking water and bring groceries with you since the small local grocery is about 10 min. away. The peninsula is known for having a variety of birds. A couple of restaurants and a bait shop are near the park. There is a small playground near the nature park. During the summer months reservations are a must.
We stayed here in a 5th Wheel. | | Comments (0) |
