Very liberal use of the term "Resort", this place was probably once a great CG, but was allowed to fall into a sad state.
The new owners are doing a lot of work to bring it back, but it still needs a ton of work. The road into it was obviously once paved, but it is now so bad, they should put it back to gravel, it would be far smoother, same for the interior roads, they show some signs of once being paved, but are rough & narrow, with trees close to the road, the pull throughs are somewhat unlevel & difficult to maneuver into & out of because of the closeness of trees. On the plus side, they have a beautiful Lake, nice store/resteraunt & they are very quiet & secluded, the folks that run it are friendly & polite. A lot of potenial.

We were here in May' 09, the place could use a lot of work, we had a FHU pullthrough, w/cable & Wifi. The pads are short, which meant, I had to pull forward, with the front off of the pad, which meant a lot of leveling, lots of trees, actually too many, we couldn't put the awning out, but no big deal with all the shade. interior roads are gravel, Wifi worked, but very slow. We didn't use any of the amenities as we were only there for the night. We paid the Passport America rate of $17.50, and if in the area again, we will stay here for a night again.

We stayed here in July '08 while visiting the Mammoth Cave area. The owners are very nice, friendly folks.
We had a full hookup, partially shaded, pull through site, the CG is obviously an older Park that , but the new owners have made extensive repairs & upgrades. The Bathrooms/showers are old, but clean & functional.
It's handy for touring Mammoth Cave area, 6.5 mi to the Mammoth Cave Visitor center. We Would deffinately stay here again.

We stayed here for 7 days in June '08 with full hookups while we toured the Black Hills/Mt Rushmore area. A quiet family type CG , on the northern edge of Custer State Park, with a well stocked little store, ice cream shop/restaurant. Bathrooms & showers were old, but fuctional & clean, staff was friendly & helpful.
The Passport America rate of $16 will have us there again when in the area.
Make sure to follow the directions on their web site VERY CLOSELY, Do NOT follow Google, or MapQuest directions, as you will almost Certainly NOT make it through the tunnels with an RV, (except maybe a Popup.)

We were here for 4 days in June '09, no hookups, but there are water spigots & bathrooms throughout the CG, showers are pay showers, and a dump station. There is a store/ restaurant, gas station and museum at the entrance.
We had one of the largest sites i've ever seen, we have a 30ft Class C with dolly & toad, and could have still put another rig the same size in front of it.
Most sites are wooded, lots of tent sites which include "bear boxes" at each one.
For those that aren't into Camping, there is a Lodge, and cabins.
A Great place to stay while touring or hiking Skyline Dr.

We have stayed here a couple times, easy access off I-90.
Most of the place is Seasonals, & permanents but do have some pull throughs with Water & electric, and a few Full hookups & a dump station
There are 2 ponds/lakes, one for swimming & one for fishing, putt putt golf, arcade, showers & bathrooms were old but clean.
All in all, it's not a "resort" but very adequate and the Passport America rate of $17 a night was enough to keep us coming back when in the area.

| Misty Mountain Camp Resort | We stayed here for 2 days last year, and found it to be a very nice CG.
They have full hook-ups (w/Cable),pull through sites,.
The place is well maintained & clean, & quiet, staff is very friendly, they have all the amenities, though we didn't really use them as we were off site seeing.
Easy access off exit 107 I-64. We stayed here in a Motor home, and will stay here again, when in the area.

When we have hookups, and we leave our little guy alone in the MH, we leave the AC on. of course that's not a guarantee , once we left him alone to go shopping in Lake Havasu City , we left the AC on, outside temps were around 110, when we returned, we found that the AC had tripped a breaker, it was 100 inside, the vet we took him to said we were lucky that it was a larger enclosure like the MH and not a car.

Camping can be done relatively inexpensive, RV'ing however can get very expensive, but you can start a little cheaper, then with more experience, move up in size & cost. It all depends on how & where you want to camp.

What may be more fair is if you had posted your thread to a gaming forum, rather than a Camping & RV Forum. More people might even have a clue what you're talking about.

You don't have a neighbor, friend or relative close by that can keep an eye on it for you ? Security devices are only good at keeping the honest folks honest, if a crook, (especially a pro, as you put it) wants it, he'll have it, and probably take the cameras with him.

Re: How do you research new campsites? | I take recommendations from other campers on forums like this & others, I also check out places on websites like recreation.gov, national park & national Forest websites, then check the reviews on rvparkreviews.com.

My original camera went belly up, so I had a wireless installed, it's a Voyager model WAOM562, 5.6 inch color screen With sound, which is really handy when my wife is back there guiding me. The price is considerably higher than McKannick's link, $446.00 but It was done under warranty so the price didn't bother me.

Re: Hurricane Harvey Losers need RV question HELP | Sorry to hear about your losses, many folks in the same boat. But with an F150, I don't think you're going to get much of a TC, a 250 or 350 certainly, but with a F150 I think you'd be far better off going with a TT, with the right suspension and hitch, (load Leveling) you could go a bit longer than 18 ft. (which is kinda small), maybe 24 +/- especially if you have to spend a lot of time in it. Small gets even smaller, Real quick. The smallest one Arctic fox makes, the 811 is just under 1 1/2 ton, it does come with a dinette slide, IIRC, the 150 is a 1/2 ton truck, the Wolf Creek 840 is just a tick under 1 ton, but has no slide which makes it more cramped. Try this site, but again I think you'd be farther ahead with a TT.

Re: Summer family trip in jeopardy as my brother has a criminal record. | Sorry, but I don't know how that works, as I've always been here, but if they evicted all the people in this country that had a record, we'd lose about a third of the population. :(

Re: Food Saver for RV camping. | We have a Food Saver, and love it, while we don't use it "Just for Camping", we do use it all the time at home, and take many of the items with us on camping trips, the first thing I learned real quick is, you can't use it for bread or rolls, unless they're already frozen, they squash right down flat, basically like a dry sponge, only they don't pop back into shape. :)
