Welcome back,
Hurrah to the New Year, and new beginnings. So what will 2010 bring?
For Melissa Williams, founder of the CA Wellness Walk, it will be a 750 mile walk through California to raise awareness of diabetes. Studies estimate that one in three Americans will have diabetes by 2050, and Melissa and her team are intent on raising awareness of this issue and making a difference through education. She is an inspiration to all of us here at CampingRoadTrip.com - her passion, her drive which has turn good intentions into real action, and her commitment to this worthy cause. Melissa reminds us all that words are easy, but action is what counts, so join us in supporting the fight against diabetes.
It is the time to make a difference - to your family and friends, to your community, to our environment. It may not be a marathon walk, it could be just a small step, but it all adds up in the end. Make that commitment to get fit, eat better, enjoy the outdoors, take that RV trip, go camping, be kind to nature.
Remember, "Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!" - Author Unknown
At the end of the day, the Holidays are about journeys - the ones you take on the road, and personal ones that help you grow. So gear down, take the local lane, and enjoy every second you get to spend outdoors. You deserve it!
Saving lives one step at a time
Starting in January 2010, Melissa Williams and two of her team members will embark on the CA Wellness Walk, a 750-mile trek from San Diego to Sacramento, to help raise awareness for Type 2 diabetes, which is predicted to affect one in three American children in their lifetime.
